A Tarnished Halo
"For fools rush in where angels have fallen through the floorboards once already . . ."

Travelogue: Day 4 of the Games of the XXX Olympiad
The London Eye
It takes half an hour for the Eye to make one revolution, and during the "flight" – that's what they call the ride – the wheel is revolving at just over a half-mile an hour. In case you're wondering, the "cars" are actually sealed containers. Each car holds twenty-five people, and there's actually enough room for passengers to walk around during the flight.
All together, there was more than enough time, stability, and space to shoot a scene for the website.
The passengers who weren't already in on what we were doing actually seemed quite amused. They even signed the release forms. You definitely couldn't get away with this on, say, the Eiffel Tower. God love the English!

Travelogue: Day 6 of the Games of the XXX Olympiad
Oxford University
So I asked her what else she did that made her an amateur starlet. So many of the chicks who call themselves "amateurs" actually make more money running their websites than they do from whatever else it is they're willing to tell people they do.
She told me she was a graduate student in Chemistry at Oxford. I told her in the gentlest way possible that she was full of it. I was good-natured about it, of course.
She thought for a minute, then asked me if I knew the difference between covalent, ionic, and metallic bonding. I told her I didn't.
Next, she asked me if I'd ever been in any scenes that involved two or more men and one or more women. I told her I had.
Finally, she explained the difference between covalent, ionic, and metallic bonding.
Then it was my turn to think for a moment. After that, I said "One day you'll make a fine Chemistry professor. Just be careful who sees these videos."
True story.
